Gaming Accessibility Award 2023 - Winner
In September 2023, my work for the assist controller (split controls across two controllers) and menu haptics was pushed to production. The purpose of the haptics feature allows gamers with disabilities to perceive information in an alternative mode while navigating our user interface by utilizing vibrations in the DualSenese controller. The assist control feature allows gamers to play simultaneously together as one player which is especially important to keep gamers with disabilities in control of their games, without having to hand over a controller device for an assistant to complete a level. Now, they can truly participate throughout the entire gaming experience.
These two projects were initially developed from internal hack-a-thon projects, then run through extensive user research testing with gamers with disbailities to create these innovative features.
